Picked up a 2009 C300 4matic locally. Like the car a lot so far, drives very well and the panoramic roof is just awesome. Great companion for the 328i. Could use any tips/advice you guys have.

Check to see if the transfer case is leaking, very common on 09-10. Also not add big of a deal ad it sounds like. Once it’s fixed it never happens again. I also suggest cleaning/replacing the filter/restrictor that is in the fluid line at the transfer case. If this gets plugged up it is bad news, but that rarely happens. Other than that they’re great cars, very low maintenance for a Mercedes.

Ah, exactly who I wanted to chime in. I’ve read about the transfer case/transmission problem, seems costly if it isn’t taken care of. Definitely gonna look into that. Also, I’ve noticed that my car has the sport exterior with the luxury interior. Is that a common configuration?
And the panoramic roof, which I love, looks very greased.. Not sure if it’s a problem but here’s a picture.

It takes a while fotabbert transfer cases to leak badly enough to cause any problems.
It isn’t uncommon. There’s a ton of weird configurations.
Normal. Ish. That grease looks old. They’re supposed to be re-greased every service, but it’s often neglected unfortunately. I would just wrote it down a bit and liberally apply some new stuff. Ask a dealer to do it, the correct grease is very expensive to buy as it comes in a bulk jar. They will probably (should) do it for free, only takes a couple minutes.

I’ll try to get the dealership to grease the pano roof for me next time I stop by. I have my Indy shop, but if the dealership is free I’ll definitely head there.

Well the Indy might do it too.
